Summary:

oh baby! childrenswear brand is looking for an experienced technical designer to work directly with the lead designer and her small team to create twice yearly fashion collections for the baby and childrenswear market.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist lead designer with technical documentation and administrative support to collaboratively develop cohesive seasonal collections of children's apparel and accessories. Among other tasks, you will:

• Document the framework of each collection, including style profiles, size ranges, colors, fabric composition, embellishments, cost and pricing targets, etc.
• Track and maintain a detailed record of sample fabrics, costs, pattern modifications and other details during the development process, and coordinate with vendors to develop and revise samples.
• Develop detailed final garment specifications and tech packs, including bill of materials, technical drawings, sizing, color, etc.
• Conduct and manage fittings to review and adjust samples for final approval.
• Create detailed and accurate production orders with overseas and domestic factories, and ensure accurate and timely production through clear and timely communication.
• Work with in-house sales team to create linesheets and sales materials.
• Maintain an accurate and comprehensive history of all collections, including patterns, costs and collateral materials.
• Maintain organized sample sets for the sales team.

Qualifications:

• Degree in apparel production or design, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in apparel production or design. We will consider other product design experience.
• Fluency in Microsoft and Adobe programs, including Excel and Illustrator, and CAD. Must demonstrate mastery of Excel spreadsheet management and CAD competency.
• Experience with apparel illustration and sketching.
• Strong personal work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding creative environment.
• Excellent written and interpersonal communications skills.
• Must be organized and efficient.
