Designer will create detailed fabrication drawings, 3D models, and shop-ready documentation for custom metal fabrication projects. This role works closely with project managers, production personnel, and customers to ensure designs are accurate, manufacturable, and meet customer specifications. Responsibilities Create 3D models and fabrication drawings using

SOLIDWORKS

. Read, interpret, and work from architectural, structural, and fabrication blueprints. Develop detailed shop drawings for laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly. Design custom stainless steel, steel, aluminum, and other metal fabrication projects. Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) and fabrication documentation. Collaborate with project managers and production personnel to improve manufacturability and resolve design issues. Revise drawings based on engineering changes and customer feedback. Ensure drawings comply with company quality standards and industry specifications. Assist with project planning and design reviews. Assist with welding on fabrication jobs. Qualifications Proficiency in

SOLIDWORKS

is required. Experience with CAD drafting in a manufacturing or custom fabrication environment. Must be able to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, architectural drawings, and technical specifications. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, including laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly. Welding certification/experience and fabrication experience. Stainless steel experience would be preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Associate degree or technical training in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in custom metal fabrication is highly preferred.
