This person will serve as a right-hand assistant to our Floral Designer, helping prepare and create décor for weddings, corporate events, social events, and other special occasions throughout the Chicagoland area. Our floral department works primarily with high-quality artificial/silk florals , along with linens, arches, backdrops, centerpieces, floral installations, and other event décor. Some projects may also include balloon décor and specialty installations. This is a great opportunity for someone who is creative, detail-oriented, enjoys working with their hands, and is interested in floral design, event décor, or the wedding and events industry.

Responsibilities Responsibilities may include:

Assist our Floral Designer with creating artificial floral arrangements, centerpieces, bouquets, and other floral décor Prepare and arrange florals for arches, backdrops, ceremony structures, centerpieces, and specialty installations Assist with selecting, preparing, organizing, and maintaining artificial floral inventory Help prepare linens and other décor elements for upcoming events Assist with balloon décor and installations as needed Prepare materials and décor based on event designs and production needs Help assemble, adjust, repair, and repurpose floral arrangements and décor pieces Organize floral supplies, ribbons, containers, tools, vases, and décor inventory Help keep the floral/design workspace clean and organized Assist with packing and preparing completed décor for event installation Work closely with the Floral Designer and other Satin Chair team members to ensure projects are completed accurately and on schedule Assist with event setup or installation as needed Perform other creative and production-related tasks as assigned What We're Looking For Creative with a strong eye for color, balance, detail, and overall presentation Enjoys hands-on creative work Organized and able to follow direction Reliable, punctual, and able to manage multiple projects Comfortable working independently after receiving direction Willing to learn new techniques and take constructive feedback Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, especially during busy event seasons Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing hands-on production work Able to lift and move event décor, floral containers, and supplies as needed Works well as part of a creative team Preferred Experience Previous experience in floral design, artificial floral design, event décor, wedding décor, balloon décor, visual merchandising, crafting, or other creative production work is preferred but not necessarily required. We are open to training the right person who has a strong creative eye, is dependable, and is eager to learn. Experience working with artificial/silk florals is a plus. About Satin Chair Satin Chair Event Décor & Rental is a full-service event décor and rental company based in Naperville, Illinois, serving weddings, corporate events, social celebrations, and special events throughout the Chicagoland area. Our team creates customized event environments using floral décor, draping, linens, backdrops, arches, lounge furniture, specialty rentals, lighting, dance floors, and other design elements. We work closely together to bring each client's vision to life, from the initial design process through production and event installation.
