Graphic Designer

Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Graphic Designer to create effective, production-ready designs for print and related marketing materials. The ideal candidate combines strong visual design skills with practical print-production knowledge, communicates clearly, and asks thoughtful questions to ensure each project meets the client's needs and production requirements. Core Responsibilities Design print-ready materials including business cards, brochures, flyers, postcards, booklets, signage, forms, presentations, and other single- and multi-page documents. Create clean, professional layouts that reflect client objectives, brand standards, readability, and intended use. Produce both single-page and multi-page designs, including correct page sequencing, consistent styles, typography, headers, footers, page numbering, and master-page elements when needed. Enter, format, proofread, and edit text accurately from client-provided copy, notes, files, or handwritten materials. Build files correctly for print production, including appropriate bleed, margins, trim areas, safe zones, image resolution, color settings, and file setup. Prepare and review artwork for prepress, identifying common issues such as low-resolution images, missing fonts, incorrect page sizes, insufficient bleed, improper color mode, transparency concerns, and file packaging problems. Work closely with customer service, sales, production, and clients to clarify project requirements, recommend practical design options, and resolve incomplete or conflicting instructions. Ask questions early when specifications, copy, imagery, branding, quantities, finishing, mailing, or production requirements are unclear. Review proofs carefully for layout, spelling, image quality, alignment, and production readiness before release. Organize working files and final artwork using established naming, folder, and version-control standards. Manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and communicate promptly about priorities, delays, or production concerns. Demonstrated ability to use AI-assisted design tools responsibly to create or enhance printable, scalable graphics suitable for commercial production. Ability to refine AI-generated concepts into production-ready artwork, including vectorization or rebuilding artwork when necessary, verifying resolution, checking licensing and usage rights, and ensuring final files meet print and client brand standards. AI-generated graphics must be reviewed carefully for accuracy, originality, legibility, anatomy, typography, artifacts, trademark concerns, and suitability for the intended printed application. Must understand the difference between web-only raster images and graphics that can be reliably reproduced at print quality and scaled appropriately. Required Qualifications Demonstrated graphic-design experience in a print, commercial print, marketing, agency, or production environment. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat, and Photoshop. Working knowledge of print-production and prepress standards. Ability to set up files with proper bleed, trim marks, safety margins, crop considerations, page sizes, folds, and finishing requirements. Experience designing both simple one-page pieces and more complex multi-page documents. Strong understanding of typography, hierarchy, spacing, color, layout, and brand consistency. Ability to accurately type, import, format, and revise text-based content. Strong attention to detail, proofreading ability, and commitment to producing accurate, press-ready files. Ability to receive feedback, make revisions efficiently, and communicate professionally with internal team members and clients. A portfolio demonstrating relevant print, layout, branding, and multi-page design work.
