Hybrid/Remote SUMMARY Responsible for advancing the mission of Communities In Schools of Appalachian Highlands through brand awareness and recognition.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Reporting to and directed by the Sr. Director of Marketing of CIS of AH, the Graphic Designer will be responsible for raising awareness that can drive brand recognition by developing and executing appropriate plans and strategies. The Graphic Designer will work under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Marketing to stay informed about the market, industry trends, and the organizational landscape, while helping strategize and implement marketing, branding, and advertising plans and materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Reporting to and directed by the Sr. Director of Marketing, the Graphic Designer will assist with:
  • Developing and creating marketing materials to ensure brand guidelines are followed by the organization.
  • Developing, implementing, and tracking marketing programs such as email, social media, digital campaigns, and events. Examples include newsletters and all forms of social media.
  • Analyzing and reporting on the performance and efficiency of campaigns.
  • Conducting market research and analyzing trends to identify new marketing opportunities.
  • Writing, proofreading, and editing creative and technical content across different platforms.
  • Working with external agencies and vendors to execute marketing programs as needed.
  • Developing, managing and executing data driven strategies to address organizational needs.
  • Performing other duties within the scope of the employee's skills and abilities as assigned by the supervisor.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES ASSIGNED TO ALL EMPLOYEES
Fund Development Assist with fund development. Activities may include, but are not limited to:
  • Participate in donor cultivation and solicitation activities in support of donor development, including by phone, email or mail.
  • Support fundraising events by attending, assisting as required and representing the organization in a positive manner. Program Support
  • Represent the organization positively in public at all times by acting as a professional representative and ambassador.
  • Support the mission and goals of the organization across all programs and departments. Administration
  • Maintain accountability to administrative systems and procedures, including submitting expense reimbursements, invoices, reports, etc. by the deadlines assigned.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and Board meetings when requested. Professional Development
  • Attend CIS of AH meetings and training as appropriate.
  • Find other low-cost opportunities for professional development and training. Confidentiality

  • Experience in marketing.
  • Experience using Canva.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suites
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized and efficient.
  • Experience with Hootsuite.
  • Creativity, flexibility, and ability to create original unique designs
  • Resourceful - able to conduct research and obtain community resources/services.
  • Able to track and manage multiple projects at a given time.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication Studies, or Graphic Design preferred or demonstrated relevant equivalent experience in marketing. SALARY and

Starting at $45,000 per year This position is eligible to receive CIS of AH's full range of benefits as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
