Graphic Designer / Production Artist Alley Cat Signs is looking for a talented, detail-oriented Graphic Designer / Production Artist to join our team. This is a hands-on, end-to-end position for someone who wants to do more than create artwork on a computer. You will take projects from the initial idea all the way through design, production, finishing, assembly, and final application . The ideal candidate is creative, technically skilled, organized, and comfortable working in a sign-production environment where no two projects are exactly alike. What You'll Do You will be responsible for seeing projects through from concept to completion , including: Meet with customers and/or team members to understand project goals and develop creative concepts Create professional designs and layouts for signs, banners, vehicle graphics, decals, displays, and other signage products Prepare artwork for production using Flexi Design and Adobe Creative Suite Set up files for printing, vinyl cutting, routing, and other production processes Operate wide-format printers and related production equipment Print, laminate, weed, cut, and finish vinyl and printed graphics Perform trimming, mounting, masking, and other finishing processes Assemble completed signs and graphics Assist with installation and application of graphics to vehicles, walls, windows, signs, and other surfaces Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy before they leave the shop Troubleshoot production and design issues and make adjustments as needed Maintain organized project files and ensure artwork is properly prepared for each stage of production Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail Required Skills & Experience Experience with Flexi Design is required Strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop Experience preparing artwork for large-format printing and vinyl production Understanding of color, typography, layout, scaling, resolution, and print-ready file preparation Experience with printing, laminating, vinyl cutting, and graphic finishing Ability and willingness to work hands-on in the production area Strong attention to detail and ability to identify mistakes before and during production Ability to read measurements and work accurately with dimensions and scale Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, hardworking, and willing to take ownership of projects from start to finish Sign Industry Experience Experience in a sign shop, print shop, vehicle graphics/wraps, or wide-format printing environment is strongly preferred. We are looking for someone who understands that great sign work doesn't end when the design is finished. The successful candidate will be comfortable moving between the computer and the production floor— designing it, printing it, laminating it, cutting it, assembling it, and ultimately applying it.
