In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing boat trailer products that meet industry standards and customer expectations. Your expertise will drive the creation of mechanical designs, detailed schematics, and 3D models to ensure high-quality manufacturing and performance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge marine transportation solutions through advanced engineering practices and cross-functional collaboration. Responsibilities Develop comprehensive mechanical designs for boat trailers using CAD software such as SolidWorks and Creo, ensuring precision in mechanical detail drawings and schematics. Conduct tolerance analysis and root cause analysis to troubleshoot design issues, improve product durability, and optimize manufacturing processes. Utilize 3D modeling for product development, incorporating building information modeling (BIM) tools where applicable to enhance design accuracy. Apply engineering standards such as ASME codes & standards in all design work, ensuring compliance with safety and quality regulations. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable products, supporting CNC machining, welding, and assembly processes. Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and other simulation techniques using tools like MATLAB or Simulink to validate structural integrity under various load conditions. Engage in cross-functional communication with project management, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to meet project schedules and technical specifications. Experience Proven experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role with a focus on mechanical product development projects. Strong background in mechanical drafting, mechanical design, and 3D CAD modeling for complex product development. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), LabVIEW, Arduino, or similar automation tools is a plus. Hands-on experience with Schematics creation, mechanical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and building detailed mechanical detail drawings. Knowledge of machine design principles, tolerance analysis techniques, and engineering product development methodologies. Experience working within the framework of ASME standards or similar industry codes is preferred. Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently using project scheduling tools while maintaining attention to detail throughout the design process.
