This position plays a key role in transforming field information, engineering concepts, and client requirements into accurate, practical, and constructible design deliverables. The Senior Industrial Designer will lead complex design assignments involving industrial facilities, equipment arrangements, process systems, piping, structural coordination, and facility modifications. This individual will work closely with engineers, project managers, clients, and other designers while also providing technical guidance and quality oversight to junior team members. Duties Develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for industrial facilities, equipment layouts, process systems, piping arrangements, and facility modifications. Translate engineering concepts, sketches, specifications, field measurements, and point-cloud data into complete design deliverables. Lead design activities for assigned projects from initial concept through final issue. Interpret and work with 3D laser-scan data and existing-condition documentation. Perform field verification and site investigations to document existing equipment, dimensions, routing, and site constraints. Coordinate design work across mechanical, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines. Identify potential design conflicts, accessibility concerns, maintenance requirements, and constructability issues. Prepare general arrangements, equipment layouts, plans, sections, elevations, details, and other project drawings. Establish and maintain drawing standards, file organization, model accuracy, and revision control. Review drawings and models prepared by other designers for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements. Provide technical direction, coaching, and mentorship to junior and mid-level designers. Assist project managers and engineers with scope development, scheduling, design-hour estimates, and resource planning. Communicate directly with clients and project stakeholders to clarify design requirements and resolve technical questions. Support internal quality-control reviews and incorporate feedback into final deliverables. Manage multiple assignments while meeting project schedules, budgets, and quality expectations. Follow applicable client standards, industry practices, and Chief Engineering procedures. Travel to industrial facilities and client sites as needed. Required Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Design, Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) At least 7 years of relevant industrial design or drafting experience. Strong understanding of equipment layouts, piping systems, facility arrangements, and multidisciplinary design coordination. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, field sketches, and technical documentation. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Autodesk design software (e.g., Inventor, Revit) Experience developing detailed drawing packages with limited supervision. Demonstrated ability to review the work of others and provide clear technical direction. Ability to manage priorities and deliver quality work within established deadlines. Ability to safely enter and navigate active industrial facilities, including climbing stairs or ladders and wearing required personal protective equipment. Proficient computer skills in

MS Office Suite Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working with 3D laser scanning, LiDAR, point clouds, or scan-to-design workflows. Familiarity with process piping, equipment supports, access platforms, structural components, and industrial safety considerations. Experience coordinating projects across multiple engineering disciplines. Previous experience mentoring or overseeing other designers. Familiarity with applicable industry codes, design standards, and client-specific drafting requirements.
