We specialize in commercial and residential interior design, space planning, construction documentation, and project coordination, with a strong commitment to quality, creativity, and client satisfaction. Job Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and organized Assistant to the Lead Designer to support the design team throughout all phases of commercial and residential projects, from concept development and design documentation through permitting, construction, procurement, and final installation. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Lead Designer, assisting with drawings, presentations, material selections, project coordination, and communication with consultants, contractors, vendors, and clients. This position is an excellent opportunity for a designer who wants to develop strong technical, creative, and project-management skills while gaining hands-on experience in the full design and construction process. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Designer with the development and coordination of commercial and residential interior design projects. Prepare and update architectural and interior design drawings, including floor plans, elevations, reflected ceiling plans, details, millwork drawings, and finish plans. Assist with construction documentation and revisions using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and other CAD/BIM software . Support the preparation of presentations, material boards, and client presentation packages. Research and assist with the selection of furniture, lighting, finishes, fixtures, materials, and accessories. Coordinate with vendors and consultants to obtain information and resolve design and construction issues. Assist with project schedules, deadlines, meeting notes, RFIs, submittals, material approvals, and other project documentation. Review drawings and project information for accuracy, consistency, and coordination. Assist with basic building code and accessibility research under the direction of the Lead Designer. Participate in site visits and field measurements and document existing conditions. Assist with procurement, pricing, product research, ordering, tracking, and installation coordination. Communicate with vendors and suppliers regarding pricing, lead times, specifications, samples, and product availability. Help maintain organized project files, drawings, specifications, samples, and project correspondence. Support the Lead Designer during client meetings and assist with preparing materials and follow-up items. Assist with multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, organization, and attention to detail. Qualifications & Skills Degree or coursework in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field preferred. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Experience with 3D modeling and architectural/interior design visualization. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign preferred. Basic understanding of architectural drawings, construction documents, materials, finishes, and construction processes. Ability to read and understand architectural, interior design, and MEP drawings. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify drawing and coordination issues. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with clients, contractors, consultants, and vendors. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced design environment. Creative mindset with a strong interest in interior architecture, materials, furniture, lighting, and space planning. Willingness to learn and take responsibility for increasing levels of project coordination. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is someone who is creative, organized, proactive, and eager to learn .
