Interior Design Assistant — Technical Drafting & 3D Visualization MRCELA Custom Homes | Orlando, Florida MRCELA Custom Homes designs and builds exceptional luxury residences in premier communities, including Lake Nona Estates. We are seeking a technically skilled, highly organized Interior Design Assistant to support our Lead Interior Designer, Gabriela, across multiple custom home projects valued at $7M-$30M. This is a hands-on production role for someone who can translate creative direction into detailed, buildable drawings and compelling photorealistic renderings. The ideal candidate combines design sensitivity with strong technical skills, works efficiently, and delivers accurate, polished work under tight deadlines. Key Responsibilities Work directly under our Lead Interior Designer to develop and execute her design direction. Produce high-quality 3D models and photorealistic interior renderings, accurately representing materials, lighting, furnishings, and architectural details. Quickly develop design options and incorporate feedback into drawings and renderings. Prepare detailed interior plans, elevations, sections, and construction details. Develop complete drawing packages for kitchens, bathrooms, closets, laundry rooms, bars, offices, fireplaces, summer kitchens, and specialty spaces. Detail custom cabinetry and millwork, including dimensions, paneling, reveals, shelving, hardware, and appliance integration. Document tile and stone layouts, countertops, backsplashes, niches, transitions, and specialty finish applications. Coordinate lighting, plumbing fixtures, electrical devices, mirrors, accessories, and appliances with the interior design. Assist with finish schedules, specifications, material selections, and presentation packages. Coordinate drawings with architectural plans, consultant drawings, vendor specifications, and shop drawings. Review work for dimensional accuracy, clearances, material thicknesses, and installation requirements before submission. Maintain organized files, track revisions, and meet deadlines across multiple projects. Required Qualifications Demonstrated experience in high-end residential interior drafting and visualization. Strong AutoCAD proficiency. Advanced proficiency in a 3D modeling and rendering workflow, such as SketchUp with V-Ray or Enscape, 3ds Max with Corona, or equivalent software. A strong portfolio showing both photorealistic interior renderings and detailed technical drawings. Experience detailing custom cabinetry, millwork, stone, tile, and architectural finishes. Understanding of residential construction and how interior design details are executed in the field. Ability to work from sketches, redlines, reference images, and verbal design direction with minimal repeated instruction. Ability to produce high-quality work quickly, manage revisions efficiently, and communicate clearly. Strong attention to proportion, materials, lighting, alignment, and detail. Preferred Qualifications Experience coordinating with cabinetmakers, stone fabricators, lighting vendors, and construction teams. Familiarity with Florida residential construction.
