Job Description

Location Flexibility:
We're hiring an Interior Designer to join our team in Boise, ID; Spokane, WA; or Tri-Cities, WA. This position may be based out of any of our three Freeform locations, so we encourage qualified candidates across all three markets to apply.
Summary:
The Interior Designer is responsible for providing professional interior design services in support of client workplace projects. This role applies independent judgment, creativity, and technical expertise to develop design solutions that align with client goals, budgets, and functional requirements. The Interior Designer collaborates closely with Account Managers, Project Managers, Operations, and Installation teams to deliver thoughtful, accurate, and high-quality design outcomes and exceptional client experiences.
Specific Responsibilities and Duties:
Client & Design Services Meet with clients to evaluate project needs and develop an appropriate scope of work. Translate client objectives, brand standards, and functional requirements into effective design solutions. Determine product selections based on application requirements, budget constraints, and aesthetic preferences. Develop typicals, document standards, and coordinate product finish selections. Prepare 2D space plans to confirm occupancies, orientations, adjacencies, and overall space utilization. Create 3D renderings, with the potential to include AR/VR capabilities, to communicate design intent. Technical Documentation & Accuracy Complete site visits as needed to confirm field measurements, plan-to-site adherence, and inventory verification. Produce accurate product specifications, installation drawings, and supporting documentation using relevant software and standard processes. Ensure drawings and specifications align with manufacturer requirements, building constraints, and project timelines. Collaboration & Project Support Work closely with Account Managers to support client presentations, design development, and solution alignment. Partner with Operations and Installation teams to ensure order accuracy and design intent is maintained through delivery and installation. Respond to design-related questions and adjustments throughout the project lifecycle. Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, tools, and processes. Additional Responsibilities Performs other job-related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team, clients, and organization. Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in interior design from an accredited university, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Strong computer competency with the ability and curiosity to quickly learn new technology. Detail-oriented and well-organized, with strong time management and prioritization skills. Proactive problem-solver committed to continuous improvement. Ability to collaborate effectively within a team while also performing heads-down, autonomous work. Strong written and verbal communication skills, both internally and with clients. Enjoys helping clients, presenting design concepts, and engaging with design-industry colleagues. Preferred Two (2) or more years of experience working for a contract furniture dealership. Proficiency with CET Designer. Experience working at a full-service design firm. Experience using AutoCAD and/or Revit. Core Competencies Design Judgment & Creativity Client. Technical Accuracy Collaboration Time & Priority Management Problem Solving. Physical & Environmental Requirements Primarily works in an office and showroom environment with extended periods of time spent at a computer workstation using design software. Ability to travel to client sites, showrooms, and project locations as needed. Occasional lifting, carrying, or moving of materials such as sample binders, finish boards, and presentation materials, generally up to 25 pounds. May be required to walk job sites that include uneven surfaces, stairs, or active construction areas.

$26.45 - $32.00 per hour
