Job Description

The Penny Mustard Advantage The Product:
Custom built close to home. 86.2% of our furniture is made within 300 miles of our distribution center.
The Schedule:
Balanced 4 day workweek (36 hours | Weekends required).
Earning Potential:
$60,000-$100,000+ expected annually (performance-based). Your income is tied directly to your performance, there is no ceiling on what you can earn.
Our Training Commitment:
$20.00 guaranteed hourly pay. We invest in your success with hands-on training. You stay on this stable wage until you feel completely confident and ready to transition.
Commission Structure:
Move permanently to our rewarding, uncapped commission structure when you're ready. Commissions are paid directly on written sales (based on standard showroom deposit/financing terms).

Experience the craft firsthand. Beyond initial onboarding, our teams visit our Marshfield factory to connect directly with our builders and master the story behind every piece.

What You'll Do Holistic Room Curation:
Think beyond individual items. You will guide clients through the entire design process, shifting focus from single transactions to creating entirely finished, cohesive spaces.
In-Home Design Appointments:
Take the design experience directly to the client. Conduct in-home consultations to take precise space measurements, assess lighting and layout, and deeply understand what the home needs.
Versatile Project Management:
Confidently balance projects of all sizes, from a small corner refresh to a full-scale whole-home layout.
Relationship-Driven Sales:
Act as both the creative visionary and the relationship closer. Cultivate deep trust with guests on the showroom floor, building a loyal book of business through consistent follow-up and outstanding care.
Order Integrity:
Take total ownership of your projects. Meticulously enter custom order specifications and financing details, ensuring 100% data accuracy before anything goes to production.
Team Collaboration:
Partner closely with your in-store team and the Operations team to ensure a seamless transition from the final sale to home delivery.
What We're Looking For Experience:
2+ years of experience in interior design, home furnishings retail, or luxury sales where you have a proven track record of meeting goals. (High school diploma or equivalent required).
Spatial Vision:
Strong natural eye for color theory, scale, textile blending, and room layouts. Ability to confidently sketch or map out space solutions for clients.
In-Home Professionalism:
Comfortable traveling locally to client homes, presenting yourself with the utmost professionalism, and building immediate personal trust.
Precision & Detail:
A proven track record of managing complex tasks with high accuracy, specifically when entering technical codes for materials and finishes.
System Savvy:
Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) and able to learn and navigate our in-store POS system to manage client orders.
Communication:
Exceptional listening and presentation skills,the ability to confidently present high-ticket room packages and help clients see the value in long-term quality.

$40,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
