You will act as a pivotal link between design, sales, clients, and technical execution—delivering fast-turnaround, high-precision drawings, photorealistic renderings, and technical order specification packages. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead diverse projects from initial conceptual layouts to detailed construction and installation documentation, all while working in a collaborative, energetic environment.
Key Responsibilities Advanced Space Planning & Rendering:
Lead space planning, furniture layout design, and photorealistic rendering creation using CET Commercial Interiors (Configura) , AutoCAD, SketchUp, and 3D modeling tools to translate conceptual ideas into detailed plans.
Specification & Order Readiness:
Generate highly accurate product specifications, bills of materials (BOM), and line-item pricing (using manufacturer CET extensions and Spec/CAP) to ensure a seamless transition to order entry and mistake-free installations.
Technical & Architectural Coordination:
Review complex architectural plans, verify field measurements/inventories, conduct building code and ADA compliance analysis, and account for site conditions (MEP, structural obstacles, and electrical/data distribution).
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner directly with account managers, sales representatives, A&D firms, and general contractors. Join in design presentations, integrate feedback, and incorporate graphic design principles into presentation materials to enhance project clarity.
Quality Assurance:
Execute rigorous quality checks and self-audits on all project deliverables (drawings, specs, finishes, hardware integration) prior to client presentation and order placement.
Material & Finish Selection:
Collaborate with Interior Designers to curate finish palettes, fabric schemes, and product applications aligned with modern workplace trends, ergonomics, and sustainability standards (such as LEED and WELL).
Technical Support & Documentation:
Prepare comprehensive installation packages, power/data location plans, technical specification details for builders, and final as-built drawings.
Industry Leadership & Mentorship:
Stay current on top-tier dealership product lines and evolving workspace tech integration. Assist in optimizing workflow efficiencies and mentor junior team members on tool mastery.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a closely related technical field.
Experience:
1+ years of professional experience in commercial interior design or commercial furniture dealership workflows.
Core Software Mastery:
Advanced proficiency in CET Commercial Interiors (Configura) is preferred. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD, Spec/CAP, and Microsoft 365.
Supplementary Software Skills:
Experience with BIM/CAD/Visualization tools (such as Revit, Bluebeam, Adobe Creative Cloud, or 3ds Max) to facilitate efficient system coordination and presentation workflows.
Technical Expertise:
Deep knowledge of systems furniture, demountable walls, ancillary product lines, architectural schematics, and construction detail documentation processes.
Regulatory Compliance:
Strong understanding of building code analysis, local regulations, safety standards, ADA compliance, and environmental frameworks (LEED/WELL).
Communication & Project Management:
Excellent drafting skills combined with a keen eye for detail. Outstanding organization skills with the proven ability to lead client presentations and manage multiple high-priority projects concurrently under deadline pressure. Why Join Us? Bring your passion for innovative design solutions and your technical mastery to Koll Interiors! Advance your career in a vibrant, supportive team environment where your work directly shapes the future of the modern workplace.
