Hourly wage based on experience About the Role We are seeking an experienced Residential Interior Designer to work directly with the owner of our company on residential renovation and interior design projects throughout the Houston/West Houston area. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, detail-oriented designer who can take a space from concept to a polished design plan. The ideal candidate has strong residential interior design experience, a great eye for design, and the ability to turn ideas into practical, visually compelling spaces. This is a hands-on design position . You will be involved in developing concepts, measuring spaces, creating floor plans and 3D presentations, and helping bring design ideas to life. Responsibilities Develop interior design concepts for residential renovation projects Create room concepts and complete design plans Develop 3D mood boards and visual presentations Take accurate measurements of residential spaces Create floor plans and space layouts Create 3D renderings to communicate design concepts Assist with material, finish, furniture, fixture, and décor selections Research and source products and design elements as needed Collaborate directly with the owner throughout the design process Translate client/project goals into cohesive and functional design concepts Make design recommendations based on the property's style, functionality, budget, and overall goals Visit properties as needed for measurements, design planning, and project coordination Maintain organized design files, measurements, plans, and project materials Stay current with residential design trends, materials, finishes, and products

Qualifications Required:

Previous experience in residential interior design Demonstrated ability to develop cohesive interior design concepts Strong understanding of space planning, scale, proportion, color, materials, and finishes Excellent attention to detail Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple design tasks Comfortable visiting residential properties and taking accurate measurements Portfolio showcasing completed residential interior design projects

Software Experience Experience with design software is a plus, particularly software used for: 3D renderings Floor plans Mood boards Space planning Design presentations We are willing to train the right candidate on specific software. We are more interested in your design ability, creativity, experience, and portfolio than in whether you know a particular program. Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Has a strong creative eye and a passion for residential design Can visualize how a space can be transformed Understands both aesthetics and functionality Is comfortable taking an idea from concept through presentation Has excellent attention to detail Is confident making design recommendations Is professional and comfortable working directly with the owner Can work independently while taking direction when needed Is dependable, organized, and responsive Wants a flexible part-time opportunity with the potential to grow with the company Schedule & Work Environment This is a hybrid, part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week . The position will include a combination of remote design work and in-person work in the Houston/West Houston area , including property visits and measurements when needed. The schedule can offer some flexibility for the right candidate, but the designer must be available for scheduled project meetings, property visits, and collaboration with the owner. Compensation Hourly compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and portfolio. We are looking for the right person and are willing to compensate an experienced designer accordingly.
