Part-Time / Flexible About Us The L&L Design Team is a boutique interior design firm in Northern Virginia specializing in high-end, full-service residential interiors. We are a small, close-knit team looking for a talented Part-Time Interior Designer to help bring exceptional residential spaces to life while delivering an outstanding client experience.
Position & Schedule Overview Flexible Hours:
Average of 10 to 25 hours per week (hours vary based on active project phases—busy during kickoff, presentation, and install phases; lighter during procurement).
Hybrid Model:
A mix of in-office work, in-person client meetings, site visits, and team check-ins across Northern Virginia.
What You'll Do Space Planning & Design:
Assist with floor plans, furniture layouts, color schemes, and 3D renderings (CAD, SketchUp, Foyr, or similar).
Sourcing & Specifying:
Source furniture, fabrics, lighting, finishes, and accessories; prepare client quotes and selection sheets.
Client & Site Collaboration:
Attend client consultations, design presentations, site measure-ins, and installation days.
Presentation Prep:
Create digital design boards and client-ready presentation decks (experience with DesignFiles is a major plus!).
Studio Support:
Assist with sample library management and mood board creation during lighter project weeks. Qualifications 2+ years of residential interior design experience. Degree in Interior Design or a related field preferred. Proficiency in design software (CAD, SketchUp, Foyr, or similar visual rendering tools). Experience with DesignFiles or similar project management software is a plus. Strong knowledge of space planning, textiles, color theory, and high-end furniture vendors. Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently in a small-team environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for local site/client visits in Northern Virginia. Why Join Us?
