Qualifications:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience providing sign language interpretation, preferably in a school setting National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent is strongly preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Strong sense of responsibility and cultural sensitivity
Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear communication between students, staff, and faculty using ASL Interpret classroom instruction, meetings, events, and extracurricular activities as needed Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines of interpretation Collaborate with staff to support students educational experiences and goals Adjust interpreting styles to fit a variety of classroom and educational environments
