Key Qualifications:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) Preference for previous experience in classroom support, educational interpreting, or working with children—especially Deaf/Hard of Hearing students EIPA and RID certification are not required Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills Reliability, patience, and dedication to fostering a positive learning environment
Core Responsibilities:
Provide ASL communication and support to an elementary-aged student in all classroom activities Facilitate interpretation during instruction, assignments, and school routines Assist with transitions, peer interactions, and daily learning experiences Promote the student's participation, independence, and inclusion Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and the broader school team
