Job Description

Bring your passion for sign language and support to a dynamic educational environment where youll play a key role in empowering students communication and growth. This contract opportunity gives you the chance to work closely with students across a range of ages, including Pre-K, Kindergarten, elementary, and middle school, in a rewarding 1:1 pediatric setting. Your interpreting expertise will help bridge communication and foster academic and social success for students who rely on sign language every day.
What You'll Bring:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Prior experience working as a sign language interpreter, ideally in school or pediatric settings Ability to adapt quickly to varying student needs and learning environments (Pre-K through middle school) Strong interpersonal skills and a patient, compassionate demeanor Certification or license (where applicable by state or district) Commitment to ensuring clear, accurate, and confidential communication
Your Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 sign language interpretation for students in classroom and school-based activities Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using ASL Support students across various grade levels: Pre-School, Kindergarten, elementary, and middle school Assist with adapting instructional materials and classroom participation for students with hearing differences Ensure a positive and accessible learning environment for each student Collaborate with educational staff to tailor interpreting services according to student IEPs and specific needs By taking on this meaningful contract position, you'll make a daily impact in students lives, ensuring they have the tools to thrive.
