Desired Qualifications:
Proficiency in braille transcription and interpretation in an academic environment Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired Familiarity with various communication modes, including American Sign Language (ASL) and tactile interpreting techniques Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and support staff Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in preparing braille documents Commitment to upholding confidentiality and adhering to educational standards
Key Responsibilities:
Provide interpreting services for students during classroom instruction, activities, and events Transcribe educational materials, assignments, and assessments into braille and other accessible formats Collaborate with educators to ensure curriculum materials and resources meet the needs of students with visual impairments Assist students in navigating classroom settings, supporting their participation and engagement Maintain accurate records of services provided and materials produced This position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in students' educational experiences.
