Job Description

Make a meaningful impact by supporting students as an American Sign Language paraprofessional and interpreter in an educational setting. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced paraprofessionals and sign language specialists who are dedicated to fostering inclusive learning environments for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. The assignment is district-wide, offering the unique chance to work with a variety of age groups and contribute meaningfully every day. Your expertise will help bridge communication gaps, ensure every student has equitable access to instruction, and empower learners in their academic journey. Desired Qualifications:
Valid California Paraprofessional Credential Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working as a paraprofessional, sign language interpreter, or ASL teacher in a school environment Collaborative and flexible, with the ability to adapt to changing classroom needs Commitment to supporting students with diverse learning requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct in-class support and interpretation for students using ASL Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers Assist with classroom instruction and activities as needed Work collaboratively with teachers and other support personnel district-wide Maintain a supportive, patient, and positive approach at all times This contract position offers you valuable experience across multiple schools within the district. The anticipated start and end dates, as well as specific caseload details and school assignments, will be clarified upon final confirmation.
