Job Summary Job Summary Basic Function Under the general supervision of the Director of Special Education, serve as the facilitator of communication between students, teachers and others; interpret from spoken and written English to sign language for students and sign language to voice for teachers and peers. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Possess a Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or equivalent; or must have achieved a score of 4.

0 or above on the EIPA, the ESSE-I/R, or the

NAD/ACCI

assessment;

• Education or experience related to working with children who are deaf and hard of hearing in an educational setting preferred;
• Possess or obtain upon employment, a valid California Driver License and provide proof of automobile insurability;
• Meet the physical requirements necessary to perform assigned duties safely and effectively, including lifting fifty (50) pounds on an occasional basis and in excess of fifty (50) pounds with assistance;

Employee may elect to be a member of the Mendocino County Federation of School Employees Union. MCOE does not participate in the Social Security system.
