This in-person, contract opportunity spans the academic year and is ideal for professionals who excel in a 1:1 environment and possess demonstrated expertise in educational interpreting.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher Certification and experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, ideally within a school or pediatric setting Proficiency in both American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with the ability to facilitate clear communication in an educational environment Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build rapport with students, staff, and families Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and student-centered support

Core Responsibilities:

Deliver dedicated 1:1 sign language interpretation services for an elementary-age student throughout the school day Accurately interpret classroom instruction, activities, and social interactions, ensuring full access to information and participation Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and the educational team to promote an inclusive and engaging learning environment Monitor and adapt interpreting styles and approaches according to student needs Maintain accurate records and uphold ethical standards of interpreting within the school setting
