In this vital role, you will facilitate clear and accurate communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients, ensuring that language barriers do not hinder quality medical services. Your expertise will support diverse medical settings, including hospitals, clinics, and social service agencies, helping to improve health outcomes and promote equitable care for all patients. Act as a fluent bilingual interpreter between English-speaking healthcare professionals and Spanish-speaking patients during medical consultations, procedures, and follow-up appointments. Accurately translate medical terminology, patient histories, consent forms, and treatment instructions while maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Review and interpret medical records, documentation, and social work reports to support comprehensive patient care. Assist with interpretation for child protective services cases and hospital social work assessments to ensure clear communication of sensitive information. Provide interpretation services for telehealth sessions, community outreach programs, and emergency situations as needed. Maintain precise documentation of interpreted interactions in compliance with healthcare standards and organizational policies. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure understanding of complex medical concepts across language barriers while demonstrating excellent communication skills. Fluency in both English and Spanish is essential; proficiency in American Sign Language or additional languages is a plus.
