e2111-62629 Job Description Step into a rewarding full-time opportunity supporting students as a dedicated 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter. This contract position is available on-site, conveniently located in the greater Chatham, IL region, and is open to candidates willing to travel. Your expertise in American Sign Language will make a lasting difference in a school setting, helping to bridge communication and foster student growth.

Required Qualifications:

ASLPI score of 4.1 or higher, demonstrating advanced proficiency in American Sign Language Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably within an educational or school environment Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster trust and collaboration with students, staff, and families Ability to work full-time, on-site, throughout the duration of the contract Relevant certifications or state credentials to practice as a sign language interpreter

Primary Responsibilities:

Interpret classroom instruction, conversations, and activities for a single student who is Deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring equitable access to learning Adapt interpreting styles depending on the students needs and the academic context Collaborate closely with teachers, special education staff, and other school professionals to optimize instruction Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy in all interpreting assignments Contribute to a positive and inclusive educational environment that supports student success
