9649456-60435 Job Description Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic school setting near Joliet, IL. This full-time assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the academic year. Your role will span Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 2:45 pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch daily. Youll play a vital part in fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, specifically working one-on-one with a student who demonstrates behavioral needs.

Key Qualifications:

Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience providing interpretive services in an educational environment Ability to establish positive rapport with students, including those with behavioral challenges Flexibility, patience, and excellent communication skills Familiarity with confidentiality requirements and professional ethics Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (where applicable by state law or school policy)

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and effective sign language interpretation between students, staff, and peers throughout the school day Assist with classroom communication needs and facilitate participation for a student with behavioral considerations Support team collaboration by relaying instructions, directions, and feedback in real time Adapt interpreting strategies to suit different learning and behavioral situations Maintain professionalism and discretion at all times Take direction from educational and support personnel regarding student needs and goals This is a unique chance to contribute meaningfully to a students educational journey while gaining experience alongside a dedicated school community.
