Make a real impact by supporting a vibrant and engaged high school student as a Sign Language Interpreter in a stimulating educational setting. This full-time contract position places you in an exciting environment where your expertise will empower communication, facilitate inclusion, and ensure academic success. You will work closely with a dynamic high schooler, who participates in football and maintains an active presence both in and outside the classroom. Enjoy a consistent schedule of approximately 37.5 hours per week, from 8 AM to 3:30 PM, making a difference each school day.

Qualifications:

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in educational or youth-centered environments Knowledge of high school subject matter and classroom routines Ability to adapt communication style to accommodate an energetic student and varying classroom dynamics Professionalism, dependability, and discretion National certification (e.g., EIPA, RID) preferred

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time interpretation between spoken English and ASL for a high school student across academic classes, school activities, and athletic involvement Collaborate with educators, support staff, and coaches to optimize accessibility and communication Adapt interpreting methods for classroom lectures, group projects, one-on-one instruction, and extracurricular events Encourage the student's participation while fostering independence and advocacy skills Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional conduct standards at all times If you are passionate about fostering communication and equity for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, this role will be both rewarding and impactful.
