POSITION SUMMARY

\nThe Secondary Writing Coach assists students in the development of their written communication skills and creates and manages authentic writing opportunities/events. The Secondary Writing Coach works collaboratively with school administration, staff, and students to determine writing needs, and develops and facilitates writing workshops, partnerships, and publication opportunities. The Secondary Writing Coach, as the representative of the school and secondary English Language Arts, ensures that the publications and community partnerships are appropriate and aligned with the practices of Calvert County Public Schools. The writing coach will work with students and staff in a school setting both during and after school to produce and refine student writing. Writing sessions will focus on opportunities for students to see themselves as writers and gain experience expressing themselves through multiple genres.\n
