Desired Qualifications:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and proficiency in interpretation within educational settings Experience providing communication access services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students Ability to collaborate with teachers and support staff, adapting to various educational levels and needs State certification or registry credentials preferred (when required) Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear and effective communication between students (and staff) who use sign language and those who do not Interpret classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Support student comprehension and engagement, fostering inclusive learning environments Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpretation Partner with educators to ensure best practices and student success
