Qualifications & Experience Needed:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state equivalent) Prior experience interpreting within educational environments is preferred Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Flexibility and adaptability to new work settings
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken communication into ASL for students, staff, and families Support the inclusion of deaf or hard-of-hearing students in classroom and extracurricular activities Collaborate with teachers and educational staff to optimize communication access Adapt signing vocabulary and presentation to student age and comprehension levels Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards
