Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Valid certification as an educational interpreter (such as EIPA, RID, or state credential) Prior interpreting experience in a school setting strongly preferred Ability to interpret for students, staff, and families across grade levels Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
Facilitate clear, accurate communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff Adapt interpretation style to match learning activities, meetings, and events Foster an inclusive classroom environment by supporting accessibility and participation Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality at all times Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings as needed
