Job Description

Bring your American Sign Language (ASL) expertise to support middle school students in an engaging educational environment. A contract paraprofessional opportunity is available for those passionate about making a difference in students daily experiences. This full-time position begins as soon as possible and extends through June 4, 2027. Youll work within a dynamic school setting, helping students gain both confidence and skills by providing one-on-one and group support. This is a standout opportunity for individuals who are eager to use their ASL fluency to nurture learning, communication, and inclusion among middle schoolers.
Desired Skills and Background:
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required. High school diploma is required; willing to provide your high school or college transcripts if hired. Previous experience working in a school setting is essential. Ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and students in a diverse educational environment. Supportive, patient, and adaptable communication style.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate communication for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing using ASL. Assist classroom teachers with instructional tasks and classroom management. Support student learning and participation across academic and social activities. Encourage independence and self-advocacy among students. Maintain a collaborative approach with educators, specialists, and families. Youll be part of a team devoted to empowering students through language accessibility and individual attention.
