Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with educational terminology Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter or as a Teacher of American Sign Language Appropriate certification or licensure to interpret in a K-12 environment (if required by state or local regulations) Ability to adapt interpretation skills to meet the needs of various age groups and learning levels Strong interpersonal and communication abilities Professionalism, reliability, and a collaborative attitude

Responsibilities:

Interpret spoken language into ASL and vice versa for students, faculty, and staff Facilitate clear communication during classroom instruction, meetings, and school activities Collaborate with teachers and support staff to assist in the educational process Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interpreting assignments Support student participation in academic and extracurricular activities Adapt interpretation style to accommodate different learning environments and student needs
