9651408-63129 Job Description Make a meaningful impact by supporting high school students as a contract Sign Language Interpreter. In this role, you'll work closely with educators and staff to provide critical interpretation services for a student who is transferring into the school. Your expertise will help ensure full access to classroom instruction, promoting inclusivity and success in the academic environment.

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and relevant interpreting techniques Prior experience supporting students as a Sign Language Interpreter in an educational setting is highly valued Comfortable adapting to different learning and communication styles Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with teachers, staff, and students Possession of any required state and national interpreter certifications (such as EIPA or RID) Dependable, resourceful, and attentive to the unique needs of high school learners

Key Responsibilities:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation for a high school student throughout the school day Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, peers, and support staff Maintain confidentiality and follow school protocols at all times Work proactively with instructors to anticipate interpreting needs and adjust as schedules or classroom activities change Assist in creating an accessible and inclusive environment by accurately conveying spoken and signed content This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a direct difference in a student's educational journey.
