2996436693-2 Apply for this job now Job Description Aya Education is hiring a Travel American Sign Language Interpreter to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students across partner schools. In this role, you'll deliver accurate, real-time ASL interpreting for classes, meetings, and school events, traveling between sites as needed. You'll collaborate with teachers, specialists, and families to remove barriers, ensure accessible instruction, and uphold professional ethics. Responsibilities Provide real-time ASL interpretation for K-12 and postsecondary students across multiple school sites Travel to partner schools and districts to support in-person and virtual classes, meetings, and events Prepare for assignments by reviewing lesson plans, terminology, and educational materials Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accessible learning environments Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to professional interpreting and educational ethics Accurately convey academic, social, and behavioral content between spoken English and ASLUse technology platforms for remote or hybrid interpreting when required Document services and communicate student access needs and progress to school teams Required Skills American Sign Language (ASL) fluency Educational interpreting K-12 classroom support Real-time interpretation English language proficiency Video remote interpreting platforms Note-taking and preparation for lessons Confidentiality and ethics compliance Student-centered communication strategies Collaboration with educators and support teams
