Job Description
The Language Center is expanding our network of freelance interpreters for upcoming in-person and remote assignments. We currently have an immediate need for English <> Mandarin interpreters , and priority consideration will be given to qualified Mandarin-speaking candidates. However, interpreters of all languages are encouraged to apply as we continue to expand our network for future opportunities. Assignments may include business, legal, immigration, educational, community, and other professional settings and may be available in person or remotely , depending on client needs. Requirements Minimum 2 years of professional interpreting experience preferred Strong proficiency in English and your interpreting language(s) Professional, reliable, and committed to interpreting accurately and impartially Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client locations for in-person assignments Interpreter training, certification, or other relevant credentials preferred Must be authorized to work in the United States Ability to work independently as a freelance/independent contractor Mandarin Interpreters - Immediate Priority We are particularly interested in connecting with English <> Mandarin interpreters for upcoming assignments. Candidates with professional interpreting experience in Mandarin will receive priority consideration. All Languages Welcome Not a Mandarin interpreter? We still want to hear from you. The Language Center works with interpreters across a wide variety of languages, and qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their information for current and future opportunities.
