Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chinese / English translator to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to bridge language barriers, facilitate effective communication, and promote cultural understanding across diverse settings. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional multilingual capabilities, interpretative expertise, and a strong commitment to professional ethics. You will play a vital role in translating documents, providing interpretation services, and ensuring accurate, culturally sensitive communication in both Chinese and English languages. Duties Provide accurate verbal and written translation of materials from Chinese to English and vice versa, ensuring clarity and cultural appropriateness Deliver interpretation services across various formats including over-the-phone interpretation (OPI), simultaneous interpretation during live events, and consecutive interpretation for meetings or conference Assist with cross-cultural training and provide insights into linguistic nuances to improve overall communication effectiveness Maintain detailed records of translation projects, interpretation sessions, and client interactions to ensure quality control and accountability Collaborate with teams to ensure consistency across all translated content Qualifications Proven proficiency in both Chinese and English languages with strong linguistic skills in translation and interpretation Experience with various interpretation techniques including simultaneous, consecutive, and over-the-phone interpretation Demonstrated understanding of professional ethics related to confidentiality, impartiality, and cultural sensitivity Multilingual abilities are highly valued; familiarity with additional languages enhances versatility Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively across cultures Background in linguistics or related fields is preferred; familiarity with educational or medical interpretation is a plus Ability to adapt quickly to different settings while maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism Join us as a bilingual bridge-builder—empowering meaningful connections through expert translation and interpretation!
