Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A 1099 contract position is available for a skilled sign language interpreter specializing in telehealth services within a school environment. This role is based in Broken Arrow, OK, and involves providing interpretation support to facilitate effective communication for students and staff utilizing telehealth platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken English into sign language and vice versa during telehealth sessions and in-person school activities. Support students with hearing impairments by ensuring clear and accurate communication. Collaborate with educators and healthcare providers to promote accessible learning and medical consultations. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions. Adapt to varying communication needs and assist in creating an inclusive educational environment.
Qualifications:
Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and experienced in interpreting within educational or telehealth settings. Familiarity with telehealth technology and virtual communication tools. Strong understanding of school protocols and confidentiality standards. Reliable and able to work independently under a 1099 contract arrangement. Prior experience working with children or in a school health context preferred.
