Sign Language Interpreter in White City, OR

Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in educational settings as a Sign Language Interpreter during the 2026-2027 school year. This engaging, contract-based opportunity is ideal for professionals who are passionate about promoting accessibility and supporting students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Four onsite interpreters are needed to collaborate with teams and ensure clear, effective communication in classroom environments.
Key Qualifications:
Possession of current Oregon Sign Language Interpreter certification/licensure Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience in educational or school-based interpreting (K-12 caseload preferred) Strong interpersonal skills and capacity for professional collaboration Commitment to ethical standards and confidentiality in all student interactions
Responsibilities:
Provide real-time sign language interpretation for students, staff, and faculty in classroom and school settings Foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment by ensuring students with hearing needs can fully access curriculum and activities Adapt interpreting style to match communication needs and preferences Partner with teachers, support staff, and administrative teams to promote student success Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP/504 meetings as needed Attend professional development as required This full-time, onsite position will be based in locations throughout Rosenburg and Douglas, Oregon. The assignment runs from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027, providing consistent hours and meaningful engagement with school communities throughout the year.
