What You'll Need:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter, preferably in a school environment Ability to support communication between students, staff, and teachers Understanding of confidentiality and professionalism when working with student information Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Appropriate state or national certification (such as EIPA, RID, or relevant credential)

Primary Responsibilities:

Provide interpretation services to facilitate clear communication for students who are deaf or hard of hearing Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and related support staff to ensure full student participation Adapt interpretation methods to suit individual student needs and educational settings Assist with school activities, meetings, and events requiring interpretation services Maintain accuracy, impartiality, and professional boundaries at all times Support students' academic and social development by ensuring access to all instructional material and classroom dialogue
