Job Description

Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract An exciting contract opportunity awaits for a skilled Sign Language Interpreter skilled in educational settings. This long-term assignment runs from now through May 27th, 2027, providing dedicated support for a middle school student newly transferred from Colorado. The interpreter will accompany the student throughout general education classes, except for a specified period with the student's DHH Teacher for IEP-related services. School location will be either Tanglewood Middle School or Beck International Academy in Greenville—final assignment site to be determined. This full-time role involves working approximately 37.5 hours each week, with schedules dependent on school assignment: either 8:15am to 3:30pm or 8:00am to 3:45pm. The interpreter will play an integral part in ensuring the student's access to classroom communication, promoting academic and social inclusion during the school day. Candidates must meet updated requirements for South Carolina, including:
Qualifications:
EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher (mandatory) Successful completion of the written EIPA exam Minimum of a high school diploma Ability to pass a background check Willingness to sign the Sign Language Interpreter Code of Ethics during onboarding
