Qualifications & Experience:

Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with demonstrated interpreting experience in school settings Previous experience supporting children in Pre K through Middle School, with a strong understanding of pediatric needs Ability to facilitate communication across a variety of learning levels and needs, ensuring equal access to instruction and social interaction Patience, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit to work with classroom teachers, specialists, and other support staff Relevant interpreter certification or licensure as required by state guidelines Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities

Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 sign language interpreting services for a student in classroom, small group, and extracurricular settings Support students understanding of instructional content, peer interactions, and daily school routines Aid educators and staff in communicating effectively with students using sign language Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times Participate in team meetings and collaborate on the development of Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals This position offers the chance to build meaningful relationships with students while contributing to their academic and social success.
