Job Description

Shared Living Provider Opportunity Central Vermont, Randolph Area, or Chittenden County Upper Valley Services is seeking a caring and reliable Shared Living Provider (individual or couple) to welcome a 38-year-old man with intellectual and developmental disabilities into their home and provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive living environment. This individual is deaf and communicates using American Sign Language (ASL), though he is currently experiencing vision challenges that impact communication. He has a wonderful sense of humor and enjoys spending much of his free time playing video games. He is looking for a provider who can offer stability, support, companionship, and encouragement while helping him maintain a high quality of life. The individual has significant support needs, including mobility assistance, transportation and coordination of frequent medical appointments at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and support with communication and daily living activities. He also has extensive medical needs, making it important that providers are attentive, dependable, patient, and comfortable supporting ongoing healthcare-related needs.
The ideal provider will:
Offer a person-centered approach that promotes independence, dignity, and choice Provide a stable, welcoming home environment Support community involvement and meaningful activities Assist with medical appointments and ongoing health-related needs Collaborate effectively with the individual's support team Be dependable, organized, and committed to providing consistent support Experience supporting individuals with disabilities is helpful but not required. Training, ongoing support, and professional guidance will be provided by Upper Valley Services. Compensation This is a contracted Shared Living Provider opportunity, not an employee position .
Compensation includes:
$60,000 annual tax-free stipend $846 monthly room-and-board stipend paid to the provider (individual or couple) to help cover household expenses Respite funding Ongoing case management and support from Upper Valley Services As a Shared Living Provider, you will be responsible for hiring and serving as the employer for respite providers utilized within the home. Providers may be located in Central Vermont, the Randolph area, or potentially Chittenden County , provided they can meet the individual's support needs and maintain access to necessary services and medical appointments. Applicants must be able to provide a stable home, pass all required background checks, and work collaboratively with the individual's team and family supports. Interested?
