Full Job Description Position Summary:

StarTek Lighting America is seeking an Entry-Level Lighting Submittal Drafter to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and professional lighting submittal drawings and documentation for our custom LED lighting projects.



This is an excellent opportunity for someone with CAD training, drafting education, or an interest in architectural/lighting design who wants to build a career in the lighting manufacturing industry. Previous lighting industry experience is not required. Training will be provided.



The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, organized, comfortable working with technical drawings, and eager to learn how custom LED lighting products are designed, documented, and manufactured. Essential Responsibilities Lighting Submittals & Drafting Prepare lighting submittal drawings and supporting documentation for customer and project approval. Create and revise CAD drawings based on project requirements, architectural drawings, specifications, and product information. Prepare drawings showing fixture dimensions, profiles, mounting details, finishes, LED specifications, power requirements, and other applicable product information. Incorporate revisions and comments from customers, architects, engineers, sales, and internal team members. Verify that drawings accurately represent the proposed custom lighting product. Perform quality-control checks on drawings before they are submitted for approval. Maintain accurate drawing revisions and project documentation. Project Coordination Review architectural plans, lighting schedules, specifications, and other project documents. Work closely with Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and Production to obtain information required to complete submittals. Identify missing, conflicting, or unclear information and bring it to the appropriate team member's attention. Track submittal revisions and approval status. Assist with maintaining project files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle. Manufacturing Support Work with Engineering and Production to ensure drawings accurately represent products that can be manufactured. Verify dimensions, materials, mounting methods, finishes, LED specifications, drivers, and other product details. Assist in identifying discrepancies between approved drawings and manufacturing requirements. Make drawing updates when product or engineering changes occur. Develop an understanding of how custom LED fixtures are manufactured and assembled. Administrative & Documentation Responsibilities Maintain organized electronic project files. Follow company drawing, file naming, and revision-control procedures. Maintain current submittal templates and standard details. Assist with updating product documentation as needed. Meet project deadlines and communicate potential delays promptly. Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent. CAD coursework, technical drafting education, or equivalent training. Basic knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings. Basic understanding of dimensions, measurements, and scale. Strong attention to detail.

• Strong computer skills. Ability to learn new software and technical information quickly. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Preferred - But Not Required Associate degree or certificate in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field. 0-2 years of drafting or CAD experience. Experience reading architectural drawings or construction documents. Experience with Revit or other design software. Exposure to electrical or lighting drawings. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of LED lighting products. Experience working with architects, engineers, contractors, or manufacturers. Understands that small drawing errors can have a significant impact on manufacturing. Provide management with visibility into inventory risks and production material constraints. Assist Accounting with month-end inventory reporting and reconciliations. Support management with inventory forecasting and purchasing decisions. Work Environment Primarily office-based with regular interaction with Engineering, Sales, Project Management, and Production. Occasional time on the manufacturing floor to understand products, dimensions, assembly, and manufacturing requirements. Fast-paced environment with multiple projects and deadlines. Hands-on exposure to custom LED lighting manufacturing.

Pay:

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
