Lead Landscape Lighting Technician / Crew Leader Apollo Outdoor Lighting | Norwell, MA | Full-time $25-$35/hour, based on experience Are you looking for consistent, full-time work with opportunities for overtime? Do you take pride in your craftsmanship—and want an employer who recognizes it? Are you ready to run your own projects, lead another installer, and take ownership of the finished result? Do you want to join a growing company where your ideas are heard and your contributions matter? Bring your skills and leadership to Apollo Outdoor Lighting. We design and install residential outdoor lighting throughout the South Shore, MetroWest, and Cape Cod. Our work combines technical skill, thoughtful design, and precise installation to transform how homeowners experience their properties after dark. We're looking for someone who can deliver work they're proud to put their name behind—and help their teammate do the same. This is a hands-on management role. You will be expected to run an installation project independently and manage an entry-level installer or apprentice , after learning Apollo's standards and processes. That means reviewing the plan, preparing materials, organizing daily tasks, directing your apprentice, solving installation problems, checking quality, and seeing the project through completion. You'll have support from our office and leadership team. You'll also be expected to make sound decisions, communicate proactively, and keep work moving without Paul directing every step. We're looking for quality, and we're willing to pay for it. We're a tight-knit team, and we only accept the best of the best. That means people who are dependable, take ownership, lead respectfully, and care about the details. If you notice a crooked fixture, exposed wire, or an unfinished task and take responsibility for correcting it, you'll understand our standards. Help build a company—and a future for yourself. We've doubled our company every year for the past four years. We're continuing to invest in our employees, training, equipment, and business processes. We want someone who is excited to grow with us, contribute ideas, develop their leadership skills, and help newer employees succeed. You will be acknowledged. You will be heard. You will be valued. You will be given responsibility—and we don't take that lightly. What you'll own Project execution: Run assigned installations from preparation through final cleanup and completion.
Crew management:
Assign tasks to your installer or apprentice, explain expectations, monitor progress, and keep the crew productive.
Training:
Teach safe work habits and proper installation techniques. Give clear feedback and check work before moving on.
Installation quality:
Run and bury wiring, mount fixtures, make reliable connections, and follow the approved lighting design.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose issues with fixtures, wiring, transformers, timers, and controls.
Daily planning:
Review project information, confirm tools and materials, and anticipate what the crew will need next.
Communication:
Report progress, document work, and flag questions or obstacles early.
Client care:
Communicate professionally with homeowners and protect their homes, landscaping, and finished surfaces.
Closeout:
Check the finished installation, complete documentation, and leave the property clean and organized. You should know when to make a decision independently and when a safety issue, design change, additional cost, or client request needs approval. What you bring Landscape lighting experience is strongly preferred. We also welcome applicants with relevant experience in irrigation, low-voltage systems, electrical installation, carpentry, or residential construction who can demonstrate the ability to lead work and manage a teammate.
You should be able to:
Explain projects you personally helped lead or complete. Read project plans and turn them into an organized installation. Use tools and ladders safely. Troubleshoot methodically and explain your findings. Delegate clearly and verify that work meets expectations. Manage your time and your apprentice's time. Accept feedback, own mistakes, and help resolve them. Stay professional when projects become challenging. What we offer $25-$35/hour, based on experience. Consistent, full-time work with opportunities for overtime. Paid lunch and bonus opportunities. Continued technical training and leadership development. Responsibility for your own projects and the opportunity to help develop a teammate. A growing company where your workmanship, ideas, and contributions are recognized.
Do not apply if:
You're looking for a position where someone else plans and directs your work throughout the day. You're uncomfortable taking responsibility for a project and another installer's work. You cut corners or leave work you know isn't right. You resist feedback or are unwilling to teach someone else. You blame others when something goes wrong instead of helping solve it. You're unwilling to participate in digging, wire burial, carrying materials, and cleanup. You can't consistently arrive ready for our 7:00 a.m. start in Norwell. Leading here means working alongside your teammate, setting the standard, and following through. Schedule and requirements Full-time, reporting to our Norwell office around 7:00 a.m. , typically returning around 4:00 p.m. Overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work may be available based on project needs.
