Our crews install theatrical rigging systems for new construction and renovations, including dead hung battens, pipe grids, manual counterweight fly systems, and motorized rigging. In this role, you'll oversee, train, and work alongside GSL crews in house and on site. We know the right person may bring strengths or experience that do not always show on a resume. Description of Position The Install Construction Project Manager (Rigging) is a working supervisory position responsible for keeping large construction projects running smoothly, from crew oversight and contractor coordination to vendor deliveries, jobsite layout, planning, installation sequencing, and safety plans. This role includes extensive travel throughout our 6[JP1] -state territory, with most weekends at home. Starting salary range is $80,000 - $120,000 DOQ with annual bonuses based on company performance. To apply, please email your resume to . Responsibilities Primary Communicate daily with rigging installation crews on scope, site challenges, and needs. Coordinate with contractors, design teams, stakeholders, and related trades on submittals, RFIs, change orders, as-builts, and warranty documents. Visit sites before construction to measure, assess constraints, coordinate trades, and plan schedules. Visit sites during construction to monitor quality, support crews, identify risks, and report progress for billing. Attend contractor meetings onsite and virtually. Visit sites after construction for training, completion review, and punch lists. Develop installation crew skills across equipment and installation types. Work with estimating and drafting to confirm scope, materials, and labor hours. Coordinate material deliveries and onsite storage with the project coordinator, warehouse staff, general contractor, and crews. Secondary Conduct rigging inspections in conjunction with or when the Lead Rigging Inspector is unavailable.[JP2] Assist with estimates and takeoffs for large bids. Install, program, and commission rigging systems alongside crews, occasionally functioning as lead installer. [JP3]
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Rigging Department Manager Required Qualifications BA/BS in Business, Engineering, Project or Construction Management, or related background; higher education preferred. Willing to travel overnight across
MN, WI, IA, IL
[JP4] , SD, and ND, with occasional travel beyond; up to 80% travel. Able to work at heights over 75 feet, climb ladders, and lift/pull 50 lbs. Knowledge of general construction practices and procedures. Able to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows. Valid driver's license with clean driving record. Able to pass background checks for K-12 school properties. Preferred Skills ETCP Theater Rigging Certification. Stage rigging systems knowledge. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. OSHA 30 Construction Safety Training; provided by GSL if needed. GSL covers travel expenses and provides PPE and tools, including vouchers for safety boots, prescription safety eyewear, and GSL-branded clothing.
