Overview The Technical Arts Manager leads the technical production of worship services and events at Lake City Community Church, delivering high-quality audio, video, and lighting (AVL) to create an engaging and distraction-free worship experience. This role works closely with the Worship Pastor related to weekend services. This role owns the AVL systems, equipment, and volunteer team, and extends technical support beyond the sanctuary to classrooms, large meeting spaces, and other facilities across the organization's campuses, while overseeing any technical arts staff who support day-to-day setup and operation. The Technical Arts Manager is also a key influence in building and sustaining a culture of volunteerism within the technical arts function, developing and maintaining structures that support ongoing volunteer engagement alongside paid staff, while prioritizing weekend worship services and combining technical expertise with a heart for ministry to support the church's mission to connect people to Jesus and community. Responsibilities Operate and maintain audio systems to deliver high-quality sound, prioritizing weekend worship services Manage video systems, including cameras, live streaming, and projection, for in-person and online audiences Coordinate video playback, including sermon slides, announcements, and worship lyrics Design and program lighting scenes and operate lighting systems to enhance the worship experience Troubleshoot and resolve audio, video, and lighting issues in real time during services Supervise, support, and coach technical arts staff Recruit, train, and lead a team of AVL volunteers, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment Develop and maintain a culture of volunteerism within the technical arts team, partnering with ministry leaders to recruit, engage, and retain volunteers alongside paid staff Schedule volunteers and staff for weekly services, special events, and rehearsals Provide mentorship to develop volunteers' technical skills and spiritual growth Perform regular maintenance on AVL equipment and recommend upgrades as needed, staying within budget constraints Manage inventory of AVL equipment and supplies Skills Experience in audio, video, and lighting production, preferably in a church or live event setting Experience training and leading volunteer teams Strong technical knowledge of audio engineering, video production, and lighting design Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve under pressure Excellent organizational and time-management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams Committed follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for worship and ministry Team player with a servant's heart and a passion for serving the church community Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to accommodate services and events Successful completion of a background check Join us as an AV Technical Manager to shape innovative audiovisual experiences through technical excellence!
