Stage Director, Northwest HS, TPT Job Specific Information:
This is a Temporary Part Time position that does not include benefits. The operational description of the stage (technical) director calls for the supervision of design and construction of sets and properties for a minimum of two major theatrical productions a year. Activities required for the execution of those duties described here relate to tasks performed after the work hours during the school year, from September through June. The two major performances consist of one play and one musical. The sponsor is responsible for supervising students in classrooms, auditorium, and other meeting areas, and sponsors should establish a culture that ensures all students are treated fairly and equitably. The stipend is $5, 994.00. Coaches must be qualified and are hired for one season. Schools must hire qualified MCPS teachers or professional certified educators to coaching positions, if available. Emergency coaches may be hired if no qualified MCPS teacher or professional certified educator is available. To be a certified coach, an applicant must: Be an MCPS teacher or professional certified educator employed by MCPS Have completed or be enrolled in the two credit MCPS course " Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED" which is offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit Complete/submit the on-line MCPS Application To coach as a Level I Emergency Coach, an applicant must: Be a certified teacher (though not employed by MCPS) Have completed the two credit MCPS course " Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED" which is offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit Complete/submit the on-line MCPS Application To coach as a Level II Emergency Coach, an applicant must: Be a high school graduate Be at least 21 years of age Have completed the two credit MCPS course " Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries, Coaching Fundamentals and CPR/AED" which is offered periodically through the MCPS Athletics Unit Complete/submit the on-line
