In addition to working closely with the Chief Credit Officer to ensure strong commercial credit quality, the role focuses on driving disciplined loan growth, expanding commercial deposit market share, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring the division operates within the Bank's risk, regulatory, and profitability expectations. The President of Commercial Banking collaborates closely with executive leadership to align commercial banking strategies with the Bank's long‑term goals. This includes optimizing asset and liability pricing within the organization's pricing guidelines/strategies, enhancing product capabilities, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the commercial banking team delivers exceptional service to businesses across the Bank's footprint. This position reports to the President/Chief Executive Officer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead the strategic direction, planning, and execution of all commercial banking activities, ensuring alignment with the Bank's overall business objectives and growth targets. Oversee commercial loan and deposit production, portfolio management, and credit quality to ensure strong financial performance and adherence to risk management standards. Lead, mentor, and develop commercial bankers, relationship managers, and treasury professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance. Ensure ongoing and effective sales efforts and strategies of the commercial lending and treasury teams. Identify opportunities for sales and client service training and development. Develop and implement competitive commercial banking products and treasury management solutions tailored to the needs of local businesses. Drive business development initiatives to expand the Bank's presence among small, middle‑market, and commercial real estate clients throughout the bank's footprint. Build and maintain strong relationships with key commercial clients, community leaders, referral sources, and strategic partners. Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer to ensure sound underwriting, portfolio diversification, and compliance with regulatory expectations. Utilize financial analytics, market data, and performance metrics to forecast trends, evaluate opportunities, and guide strategic decision‑making. Partner with marketing, operations, and technology teams to enhance client experience, streamline processes, and support digital banking initiatives. Ensure all commercial banking activities comply with applicable banking regulations, internal policies, and risk management frameworks. Represent the Bank in the community through participation in civic, business, and industry organizations to enhance visibility and support business development.

OTHER MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the Executive Management Team to establish strategic priorities, influence organizational direction, and support enterprise‑wide initiatives. Collaborate with senior leaders on organizational design, staffing strategies, incentive compensation, and performance management programs for the commercial banking division. Monitor operational efficiency within commercial banking and recommend process improvements, technology investments, and workflow enhancements. Support cross‑functional initiatives that improve service delivery, operational consistency, and client satisfaction across all business lines.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The President of Commercial Banking oversees the Commercial Lending and Treasury Management teams. The role carries full supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Bank policies and applicable laws, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, coaching, disciplinary actions, and workforce planning. The position also works closely with Credit administration, Retail leadership, and Operations to ensure coordinated service delivery and strong client outcomes.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Ten to fifteen years of progressive commercial banking leadership experience, including direct oversight of commercial lending teams. Demonstrated success in business development, credit management, and leading cross‑functional teams. Proven track record of driving profitable growth within a commercial banking environment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

MBA or advanced degree. Formal credit training program completion.

Ability to solve complex business problems, evaluate multiple variables, and make sound decisions in situations with limited standardization. Ability to interpret and apply written, oral, and diagram‑based instructions.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Proficiency with banking systems, CRM platforms, and financial analysis tools. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to operate standard office equipment.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full‑time position.
