Slow Road Photo is a Twin Cities based School Picture Day company. We are hiring seasonal photographers to join our Onsite Team, capturing school Picture Day photos, events, and family mini sessions. Slow Road Photo provides Picture Day services, sports portraits, event photography, marketing photos, and more throughout the year to over 100 schools in the Twin Cities. Onsite Team Members are at the core of everything we do for our schools. At Slow Road Photo, photographers are the ones behind the camera, capturing authentic expressions and creating a welcoming, joyful atmosphere for all participants. They use their expert eye to make sure every student is photo ready, they engage warmly, and they know exactly when to push the shutter to capture an authentic smile. They may also be asked to photograph various school events and family mini sessions throughout the year.
Requirements:
Must have at least 1 year of manual photography experience with a DSLR or mirrorless camera and understand how to adjust the ISO, shutter, and aperture fluidly (mastery of manual exposure is required) . Must enjoy working with kids of all abilities and backgrounds ranging in age from 3 months-18 years. Must have high level of comfort in a range of different school environments. Must have reliable transportation. Our office is located in New Brighton, MN. This job requires driving to the office frequently and to various schools in the Twin Cities and surrounding suburbs. Most schools are within 30 miles of New Brighton with the occasional school having a longer drive time. Travel is reimbursed for locations beyond 30 miles from our office. This job can be quite physical (lifting equipment, getting on your knees to work with small children, extended hours sitting and taking photos, etc). You must be able to lift at least 40 lbs regularly, and do it all with JOY and ease.
Scheduling:
Monday availability is required for team meetings and development, as well as availability for at least 3 additional days a week and the occasional evening and weekend. School Picture Days can require availability as early as 6:30am. Many jobs require afternoon/evening availability, with occasional weekend shifts. Pay Rate Note• All seasonal Onsite Team members will start at $20 / hour, after a 90 day probation period upon successful review with their director will be rewarded with a pay increase of $25/ hour.
