Why You'll Love this Job Retina Associate of Utah (RAU) is seeking an individual who will be responsible for providing accurate fundus, anterior segment and external photography as ordered by the eye care provider while maintaining patient flow and communication regarding appointment status within a high volume practice. Candidates must be able to travel to various clinics to meet the needs of the patients and providers and support the clinic's hours (Monday - Friday, 8 am to 5:30 pm). Schedules are provided weekly and are based on the provider's clinic patient and surgery schedule. Responsibilities Performs fundus, anterior segment and external photography as ordered by the eye care provider. Performs intravenous fluorescein angiographies and/or indocyanine green angiographies as ordered by the eye care provider. Understands and follows protocols for needle stick incidents and documentation. Performs scanning computerized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging (i.e.

OCT, HRT

) as ordered by the eye care provider. Obtains informed consent form as it applies to angiographies. Maintains camera(s), related equipment and inventory of supplies. Maintains all patient-related records as they pertain to imaging systems. Obtains images for physician presentations as necessary. Performs other duties as assigned, including being cross trained in other clinic roles to assist in efficient clinic flow. Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Experience in ophthalmic photography and digital imaging. Phlebotomy training helpful for performing FA's and/or must be proficient with vein injection and comfortable with explaining the process to patients, along with handling possible side effects. CRA and JCAHPO certification helpful but not required.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of ocular anatomy. Computer literacy. Excellent communication skills. Strong team orientation.

PHYSICAL ABILITIES

Requires normal range of eyesight to perform necessary tasks involved with the photographing of images. Involves working in a small space that is dimly-lit, or dark room.
